I thought what she gave up was her presence since she could pickpocket as much as she wanted but was always ignored, I didn't even think of her already being dead.

poor Maury and Harriet, very sad episode. :( if only Maury had been a little smarter, he could have secretly explained things to Marbas and asked him to take care of the rogue demon. instead, Maury intended to leave Wisteria there to be attacked and saved by Marbas via killing the rogue demon. that would have allowed Harriet and Maury to 'live' together for nigh on forever... or however long 'ghosts' exist. so, ultimately the entire sad ending was Maury's fault and he'll have to deal with that for many more years to come.

And now he's applying demon slayer common sense regarding blade resistance, I can't! 🙃 I know that feature's pretty common, but KnY is the most recent anime I've seen the rule being upheld in.
Oh, damn, that was sad, and at the end Maury reminded me of Nacht's 4 chibi devils and chibi Liebe, especially since he's practically Asta's brother

She could have kept her vision, thus enjoying seeing everything for herself and when she dies, she can continue staying with him for ever as a soul that belongs to him!

He wanted something against boredom, thus that deal would have been way better.

Now she's just blind and when she dies it's over.

I guess he hasn't made a pact in so long he's forgotten how to get the best deal ...

Unless of course a pact can only be made by having the human offer their most prized possession ... in which case indeed her eyes were the most prized; then it sucks that she couldn't get a more lasting deal out of it.
